I tried two of these and they were both defective. It doesn't dispense enough food when it activates.You can never tell if if it worked or not. Food would trickle out randomly. It caused way more of a headache than what it's worth. 100% defective product.

I can say that the whole idea behind automatic pet food feeders is a welcome platform. The idea of controlling the amounts and times our pets will be fed is very attractive and welcome. The only problem I've encountered is my petmate auto-feeder is not consistent enough. I got it for my cat and I feed her Blue dry cat food which is fairly small bits. My understanding is this feeder works with 1/2" size food bits at a much more consistent as far as its ability to completely drop the predetermined amount into the food dish. Mine does some of the time, others it will drop part of the predetermined amount into the food dish and either the rest hasn't completely emptied into the food dish, where you need to shake the feeder to get the rest to drop. Or not enough was picked up by the rotating wheel inside the main portion of the feeder. And it also seems that every third feeding never comes out at all unless you shake the feeder. When it happens on the early morning feedings(reason I got it) my cat will come let me know.

I have been having trouble with the feeder getting the food stuck in the pinwheel. So it has been intermeditely working.

this item can't be reset to drop just once a day after being set up to drop three times a day. I tried to remove the batteries to reset.After a month in service it started droping three times too much food per serving with the lowest drop setting.

I really like this feeder & my cat likes it too!

We've only had the Petmate Le Bistro for about two weeks and we got this so we could go on vacation and our cat would have food (we also got an automatic water bowl) It worked well when we went away and she seemed confused by the noise it made at first, but took to it quickly. It always feeds her at the right time that we programmed. It does feed her too much food though, but she doesn't eat it all and seems to stop eating when she's full. Overall we are very happy so far and hope it will last for at least a few years. I do think the top feeder shouldn't be clear though because sometimes she tries to paw up at the food she sees.

This items is great to help out busy cat owners who want to be sure "Cuddles" eats on a regular schedule, even if the owner is not (or traveling for that matter). Very easy to program with the ability to vary feeding amounts and times up to three times a day.

Overall, I love this product. The pros definitely make up for the cons.

I only wish I would have gotten these 10 years ago when we first got our cats! So easy - no problem if we're late getting home in the evening, and no begging cats on weekend mornings!

The product does the job, but it does not come without a few quirks and the overall quality of the product was less than I hoped for. If you are in a situation where you need this product to manage your pets while you are away from home, it is useable, but it could be made better for the price you pay.

I bought two of these bowls to feed my 2 cats while on vacation for a week. I'm glad I tested them out before just leaving my cats alone. Both feeders dispense way more food than the settings. And then one of them would go off earlier or later than the set time. I ended up using the bowls while on vacation. It was better than leaving the cats with no food at all. But I didn't feel confident about them. Unfortunately I had no choice.

I love my pet feeder and so does my dog,if it stopped working tomorrow I would buy a new one!!!!

I wish it had more options of times for feeding.

Great item. Cat still wakes me up in the morning, but now it's to say thank you.

Iam sending this back as it doesn't put out the feed as it should or it puts out twice what is scheduled to do. This doesn't deserve a rateing.

seems to work just fine. My cats were not afraid to eat from it at all. Have to go out of town for a few days and i will feel better about leaving because i know they will have food on the normal schedule

Feeder was easy to set up. Very sturdy. Had a raccoon try to get into it the other night...couldn't get it opened. Although it did try to run away with it, to no avail. ;-}

My cat used to wake me up every morning to eat. I purchased an older version of this a few years ago and absolutely love it! Unfortunately they only last a couple if years, but it's worth buying a new one. The new version is much easier to program, and the detachable bowl is a nice change. I'm also glad you can now get the accessory to plug it in. I just wish it came with it! Unfortunately our male cat has figured out that if he sticks his paw up in the hole he can steal food. Overall, this is a great product!
