Protective seal pierced on all items - that's why they're cheap
January 22, 2014
I searched the internet for the cheapest price for
Pet 'n Shape Chik 'n Skewers 2 lbs and it turned out to be PetGuys at $19.39 plus free shipping if you spend $75 so I bought four of them.
When it arrived, I took them out of the box and waited until I finished the last of my previous Chik n Shewers. My dog Sully, a border collie mix, has been chewing them for five years, since he was a puppy, about 2-3 a day.
When I finally opened the first one, I noticed the protective seal had a big rip in it. The skewers were a lot dryer than they usually are when I bought them from a more reputable dealer like Amazon, Dog.com or PetMountain. I checked the other 3 tubs and the aluminum seal was pierced or ripped on the other three also. I had thrown the box out so it would have been a hassle to return them.
Now I know why they were the cheapest price on the internet. If PetGuys are selling defective items, they should tell you that it's irregular in the description.
Merchant Response:PetGuys gets all our Pet N' Shape products directly from the manufacturer. We absolutely do not sell defective items. The seal gets pierced sometimes due to shipping. Imagine a tub with pointy treats getting shaken vigorously, the seals may pierce. We apologize the packaging arrived damaged. We would definitely refund it if it was returned.
Pros
- Cheapest price for this item on the internet if you buy enough to cover $75 free shipping cost.
Cons
- Item was defective. That's why it's cheap. Would not buy from PetGuys again.
